Hello! My name is Julia and I am a first year graduate student in the Public History M.A. program at Loyola University, Chicago. This blog is the home of my thoughts and feelings about public history and new media, and was created as a component of the HIST 479: Public History Media class at Loyola in the Spring Semester of 2016.
I have experience working with collections, youth development, public programs, and archives at a variety of institutions including the Science Museum of Minnesota,Wisconsin Veterans Museum, Doylestown Historical Society, and the Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society.
Through HIST 479 and this blog, I hope to grow my understanding of new media, develop technical skills, and engage in conversations about the challenges and potential of incorporating new media into public history work.
